Call to Artists for Ode to New Jersey
Seeking artwork for our open call to artists for the Fall exhibition, Ode to New Jersey. New Jersey was given the nickname of The Garden State almost spontaneously back in the 1920s however lately it has been referred to as the Diner capital of the world. It has been etched in history as being at ‘Crossroads of Revolution’ with Battle of Trenton being one of the pivotal moments in the American Revolutionary War. It holds the distinction of having the first complete dinosaur skeleton ever found to be in Haddonfield, and loves to brag about having the longest ever boardwalk (located in Atlantic City). It is famous for the Jersey tomato, cranberry bogs and growing blueberries (the state’s official fruit). The state is dynamic and ever changing.
The heritage and vibe of this place has vastly different meanings to each one of us. West Windsor Arts invites you to explore your connection to this state by crafting this open call to artists for Ode to Jersey.
