Over the past few months, as I’ve walked through our neighborhoods and spoken with parents, teachers, and neighbors across West Windsor, one message has resonated clearly: people feel disconnected from our school leadership.
Residents are proud of our community and dedicated to our students, yet many share the same frustration—that the Board of Education and district administration too often keep the public at arm’s length. Important decisions feel pre-determined, meetings offer limited real engagement, and families are frequently left searching for clear answers.
A clear example of this dynamic is the district's recent acquisition of land. Significant land deals and capital property moves impact taxpayers and township planning directly. Yet, these major decisions often happen behind closed doors or through minimal public dialogue, leaving residents to wonder about long-term financial impacts, total costs, and explicit strategic goals. Major real estate decisions should be accompanied by clear, proactive community engagement long before final steps are taken—not just presented to residents after the fact.
Our community deserves a school board that operates in the open, listens actively, and views parents and residents as true partners in education.
What I Have Learned from Our Community
In conversations on doorsteps and at local gatherings, parents have voiced genuine concerns about classroom learning and academic engagement. Many have shared instances where direct teacher-led instruction feels overshadowed by independent screen time and self-study modules. While modern technology has its place, screen-based assignments should complement—not replace—active, hands-on teaching and guidance in the classroom. At the same time, taxpayers have expressed concern over rising costs and a lack of visible long-term fiscal strategy. Residents want assurance that every tax dollar is spent wisely, efficiently, and with full accountability to the public.
Bringing a background in engineering design, complex logistics, and a Ph.D. from Georgia Tech—alongside hands-on community service as Vice President of the Village School PTA—my goal on the Board of Education is to apply practical, data-driven problem solving to these challenges.
If elected, I will focus on three core objectives:
Restoring Transparent Governance and Communication
Ensuring Fiscal Discipline and Protecting Tax Dollars
Building Future-Ready, Engaging Classrooms
A strong school district relies on collaboration, openness, and mutual trust between the administration, teachers, parents, and taxpayers. On Tuesday, November 3, I ask for your vote to bring fresh perspective, transparent leadership, and strong fiscal accountability to the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional Board of Education.
